What aday !!!!
My 54th birthday(although I try to forget them at my age!!! )
England beat Australia in the rugby(and play really well)
Ipswich Town beat Preston(their 8th home win in a row) and my son and
sailing partner (who I miss as he is back at uni in Southampton) had a
really good day out in his new car !!!!
Plus I actually got the better of my mate Formula Mark (and he was using
his exocet warp and 10.5)
I arrived with a light NE (8/10) and cloudy and had a 2hr cruise up and
down the coast and up the river to the ferry sc using the swell to get up
on the plan, with only one other out - a kite sufer struggleing to stay
upwind. Then Mark turns up with his big gear (and the sun comes out) and we
decide to have another trip down the coast but turn back at the Fludges (I
actually beat him upwind and down which makes a change and he conseeded
defeat)It just looks so oooo uncomfortable sailing formula with big heavy
rigs - I think I will stick with my 10 year old longbord and 9.4.Having
left Mark for dead I sail back up the river and see a seal by ffsc a great
3hrs 14min 4 sec sailing then home to watch the rugby and out for a meal
with friends - days don't get much better than this
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
